GLAAD 2025: Behind the Glam with Oasis at the River Room
GLAAD, we’re excited to be back!
From March 26–28, our Oasis team touched down in Los Angeles for the GLAAD Media Awards at the iconic Beverly Hilton. A weekend filled with artistry, advocacy, and a whole lot of hairspray. This was our second year supporting this powerful event, and with each experience, our connection to the mission deepens. GLAAD isn’t just an award show. It’s a celebration of authenticity, storytelling, and the voices that shape culture.
As a team rooted in beauty and self-expression, showing up for a cause that uplifts LGBTQIA+ stories isn’t just meaningful, t’s essential. We believe in the power of presence, and this weekend reminded us just how impactful it is when the beauty industry and advocacy come together to amplify change. From early call times to afterparty dance breaks, we were honored to be part of the magic.
March 26 – Arrival & Behind-the-Scenes Hustle
The moment we landed in LA, we were on. No time for touristy indulgences, just a quick breath of California air before heading straight to the Beverly Hilton. The hotel buzzed with pre-show energy as crews moved with precision and anticipation hung thick in the air.
Our day quickly turned into a flurry of team meetings, setup coordination, and pre-event prep that ran late into the evening. It was one of those nights where you grab a bite, cross your fingers for a few hours of sleep, and keep the glam squad spirit alive. We knew the next day would demand everything we had … and then some.
March 27 – Show Day: Where the Magic Happens
We kicked off early, setting up swag bags at 9 a.m. with beautiful products from our partners at Kérastase and Mane. When the shipment didn’t arrive as planned (a recurring lesson in events like this), the Kérastase team rallied, pulling products from both the Bay Area and Los Angeles. Meanwhile, we carried 150 products with us on the flight (yes, that’s commitment and upper body strength).
With our go-to bags nowhere in sight, Linh and Gabby channeled their creativity and turned a last-minute situation into a beautiful moment. Jasmin hit the pavement to pick up custom ribbon orders, set up the green room, and run supplies all over the hotel. Behind the Scenes Access
Thanks to our all-access passes, we were fully immersed in the heart of the action, living every behind-the-scenes moment that makes an event like this truly unforgettable. Host Michael Urie popped in for quick touch-ups before filming a separate segment and gracefully navigating five couture costume changes, each more fabulous than the last (with his glam team in full force).
Meanwhile, Dylan Efron from The Traitors stopped by for a natural curl refresh with Linh, adding a touch of effortless polish before stepping into the spotlight. As the red carpet buzzed with press, celebrities, and camera flashes, we moved in sync with the pace of the evening—Linh seamlessly handled glam maintenance, Gabby kept everything flowing with calm precision, and Jasmin floated between zones capturing the essence of it all, storytelling through her lens as the night unfolded.
We officially wrapped around 10:30 p.m., just in time to squeeze in a much-needed dinner before the afterparty began. Linh (ever the team's hype woman) rallied a very sleepy Gabby and Jasmin with her infectious energy. After a well-earned steak and a quick outfit change into cozy sweats (a glam rite of passage), Jasmin played escort, guiding Linh into the final stretch of the celebration. There, under the glittering lights and pulsing music, they danced, laughed, and soaked in the moment, a whirlwind of gratitude, exhaustion, and pure joy.

Our team donates time and funds our own travel because we believe in showing up, fully, genuinely, and without hesitation. It might seem small from the outside …green room touch-ups, last-minute runs for ribbon, or packing swag bags until our fingers cramp—but these moments carry weight. They represent care, presence, and the power of small details in creating something meaningful.
We’re not just there to make people look good; we’re there to support them in feeling seen, celebrated, and held in their full expression. That’s the heartbeat of Oasis. Every year, we leave with tired feet and full hearts, reminded that beauty is more than skin deep, it’s a bridge to connection, confidence, and change.
It’s an honor to stand behind and beside a community that’s actively reshaping culture. We show up because they do. And because creating space for joy, identity, and visibility is always worth the work.
